Security and privacy
Emailing your will to your loved ones is not the best practice, even though a lot of people do it. With ChromWise, your information is secure from the moment it leaves your device. It is encrypted in transit. It is encrypted when stored.

You control the timing of when information is shared
Attorneys advise against sharing inheritance information with your heirs during your lifetime. This best practice reduces the chances of a family discord. With ChromWise, you decide when you share your infomation. For example, you could share the location of your will with your loved ones during your lifetime but only share your assets, and therefore the inheritance, after your passing.

Unlike keeping your information on paper at home, your information is safe from fire, floods and natural disasters. Your list of assets, thoughts and notes may be required by your loved ones years, or even decades, from now.
“Getting your affairs in order”.
“Keep your documents safe and accessible”
It depends on your life situation. If you have young children, it will include information that the children’s guardian will need about the children.
If you are planning on transferring your legacy, you will want to include all the information you loved one will need when filing your taxes and wrapping up your affairs.
If you are doing advanced care planning, it will include all information your loved ones will need whether they are with you in person or remotely.
Broadly, there are seven categories of important documents. They are:
Estate planning documents such as your will, living will, power of attorney, healthcare proxy and trusts.
Assets - Paperwork and notes regarding things you own.
Liabilities - Paperwork and notes regarding money you owe.
Key contacts, including your doctors, attorneys, insurance brokers, and children’s guardians.
Documents including your passport, citizenship papers, marriage documents, adoption papers.
Special situations such as information on children, pets, and digital accounts.

Why is using ChronWise better than storing information on a cloud drive?
There are three key elements to gathering and sharing information.
(1) You need to know the critical information needed in emergencies or for legacy transfer. We prompt you for this information. You can upload files or write notes.
(2) You need to share it with the right people securely. We help you share only what you want to share. If you want to share life insurance information with Sally and David, but your home insurance information with only Sally, we help you do that easily.
(3) Your trusted person needs to be able to access the information and find what they are looking for easily. We create secure access for your trusted person, and create ways to find the information easily.
Why is storing and sharing information electronically better than doing it on paper?
Paper documents can get destroyed in a fire or flood. Paper documents and notes are harder to store outside the house, say in a safe deposit box, and yet have them easily accessible by your trusted persons. Notes written on paper are difficult to update. Paper documents can be difficult to organize. Often they are not in one place. It is not easy to search paper documents for specific information. If your trusted person is looking for the information of your auto insurance provider, they would first need to find the policy, then flip through pages of the policy to find the help line or the broker information – a rather time consuming process.
Electronic documents and notes can be easily stored and backed up, securely shared, easily updated and easily searched.
Are my notes considered legally binding?
No, your notes are not legally binding. Notes that you write are for you to provide guidance for your trusted persons as they are wrapping up your affairs. To make legally binding provisions, please work with your attorney.
Does my Trusted Person with whom I share information have to pay to access my Information Binder?
Your Trusted Persons do not have to pay to access your Information Binder. Their access to your information is covered under your subscription. Your trusted persons do have to create an account. We do that to safeguard the security and privacy of your information.
If your trusted persons create their own Information Binders, they will have to pay for their own account.
I am outside the U.S. Can I use this application?

Can someone else create my Information Binder for me?
Yes. With ChronWise, you can provide permissions to a Trusted Person, who is typically a spouse or an adult child, to create your Information Binder for you. Imagine sitting beside your son or daughter or being with them on the phone. They ask you questions one by one. You provide responses verbally. They enter it in ChronWise. You always retain full control over your information. If you would like to limit access for the person who entered the information, revoke access, or add another Trusted Person to view your information, you can do it at any time.
We may be able to assist you in creating your Information Binder. To enquire, please send an email to support@chronwise.com or call +1 609-200-6006.
